Nikahnama (Nikah registration)

The Nikahnama is the marriage document filled in when a Nikah is solemnised. In Punjab, registration of marriages by licensed Nikah Registrars is compulsory, and Nikah Registrars must accurately fill all columns of the Nikahnama. Once registered, the Union Council or Municipal Committee issues the Computerized Marriage Registration Certificate (see the Marriage registration certificate entry).
