Right to Information request

Under the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013, citizens can request information from public bodies; PIOs must respond within 14 working days (extendable to 28). Refusals can be appealed to the Punjab Information Commission, including online.

  1. Write a request on plain paper or prescribed form to the PIO of the department
  2. Attach CNIC copy and contact details; reasons not required
  3. Receive acknowledgment and response within 14 working days
  4. If refused/delayed, file complaint with Punjab Information Commission (rti.punjab.gov.pk)
